Happy Father’s Day!
Although men and women express their love differently, their love, and the expression of it, is of no less importance to the family structure and to the health of our culture. The bible reminds us, “and now bide faith, hope, love, these three; but the greatest of these is love.” (1 Corinthians 13:13) There is nothing like “A Father’s Love” - it is comparable to the allegory stated in the song of solomon, “…as strong as death…a most vehement flame…many waters cannot quench…nor flood drown it.” (cf. 8:6-7) This kind of love is expressed in the parable of the prodigal son (cf. Luke 15), where the father showed the son unconditional love. I am thankful for my Dad’s unconditional love toward me and can only hope and pray that I express and pass this unconditional love on to my children and grandchildren. Maybe you were not shown this kind of love by your earthly father, well, it can start with you and you can break the cycle! Love is priceless and there is nothing like “A Father’s Love!”
Happy Father’s Day to all our Father’s. And “Thank You” to all the godly men in our lives, for your influence in our lives and families!
I’ll leave you with this quote by the late Jim Valvano - “My father gave me the greatest gift anyone could give another person: he believed in me.”
In His Service,
