Happy New Year! Hard to believe its 2019! I can remember like it was yesterday the big Y2K scare in 1999 as we were approaching the year 2000. All the computers were going to have a melt down - well it didn’t happen, but still 2000 was uncharted territory! Just the thought of turning my calendar to the year 2000 seemed strange and science fiction! And now here we are, 19years latter! We do need to be knowledgable and act wisely based upon the knowledge we have. But the Bible reminds us in
1 Corinthians chapter 2 that the wisdom of this world is coming to nothing, but the wisdom of God is going to last. You and I have no idea what is in store for us this New Year. Some of us are glad 2018 is behind us - hopeful and prayerful that 2019 might be better. Some of you had a great 2018 and can’t image how 2019 can be any better. Which either end of the pendulum you swing from or somewhere in the middle, know that creator God has extended His grace and mercy yet another year, and He has a plan and purpose for you this New Year. His plan is outlined in His word - the Bible. But the Bible was not written for intellectual knowledge but for life transformation. Wisdom for the New Year - continue to look to God and His word. When the Word of God and the Spirit of God come together - transformation takes place. Give your personal relationship with Jesus Christ the highest priority this New Year!
Prayer for the New Year - “That you might know Jesus Christ more clearly, love Him more dearly, and follow Him more nearly.”
Words to hang onto for the New Year - “For I know the thoughts that I think toward you, says the LORD, thoughts of peace and not of evil, to give you a future and a hope.” - Jeremiah 29:11
