Good Morning, afternoon or evening! This is the day the Lord has made, I will rejoice and “Be” glad in it! I am “Thankful” that God is Sovereign. We serve a God that neither slumbers nor sleeps - He knows our lying down, our rising up and all in between - He is in control! God has said in His word, “While the earth remains, seedtime and harvest, cold and heat, winter and summer, and day and night shall not cease.” (Genesis 8: 22)
Hard to believe, but Thanksgiving is next week and the start of the Advent season to follow. The Holidays can be hard for people though. Depression can sit in during this time for various reasons, too many to pen in this writing. But no matter your past or present circumstances and situation you can develop an attitude of Thanksgiving - it starts with your focus being on the one in whom I started this post with - The Lord! The enemy of your soul, the devil, wants you to be discouraged and depressed and unthankful. He wants you to look at all the negatives and disappointments of life. But the lover of your soul - Jesus - He desires that you to be happy, content and at peace with your circumstances and situation. He desires that you can “Make a joyful shout to Him.” He desires that you “come before His Presence with singing.” He wants you to “know that He is God.” He wants you to know that “He has made you, you are His and He is your Great Shepherd.” He desires that you develop an attitude of Thanksgiving, in season and out of season. But how is this possible?! By focusing on Him and His attributes. “The Lord is good; His mercy is everlasting, And His truth endures to all generations.” (cf. Psalm 100) God loves YOU! He sent His Son just for YOU! It doesn’t matter what your past looks like. You have a present and a future hope - “Come before His presence” and “A Psalm of Thanksgiving Can Be Yours!” “Happy Thanksgiving!!!”
