    Feeling overwhelmed and distressed?

    July 29, 2016

“When you’re up against a struggle, that shatters all your dreams and your hopes have been cruelly crushed by Satan’s manifested schemes and you feel the urge within you to submit to earthly fear…”  (lyrics, Praise the Lord)

If you can relate to these lyrics, you’re in good company.   David, a man after God’s own heart, expressed himself similarly in Psalm chapter 143, verses 3 and 4, “…For the enemy has persecuted my soul; he has crushed my life to the ground; he has made me dwell in darkness like those who have long been dead.  Therefore my spirit is overwhelmed within me; my heart within me is distressed (“desolate” kjv).”   I think most of us at one time or another have felt overwhelmed or distressed.   What are we to do in these times?   Like David, we are to develop an even deeper thirst for God - “My soul longs for You like a thirsty land.” (Psalm 143: 6b) and Worship and Praise Him - “Praise the Lord, He will work through those who praise Him, Praise the Lord, for our God inhabits praise, Praise the Lord, for the chains that seem to bind you serve only to remind you, that they drop powerless behind you when you praise Him.” (lyrics, Praise the Lord)

God’s provision always overcomes the difficulties of this life.

“Let everything that has breath praise the Lord.”                                                                                                                                                                 “For the LORD is good; His mercy is everlasting, and His truth endures to all generations.” (Psalm 100: 5)

    Praise the Lord!

    In His Service,

    Pastor Rodney
