The bible says “Precious in the sight of the Lord is the death of His saints.” (Ps 116:15)
We celebrate life and we mourn our lose, but for those who die in Christ we do not mourn as those who have no hope. The late D.L. Moody said, “someday you will read in the papers that D.L. Moody of East Northfield is dead. Don’t you believe a word of it! At that moment I shall be more alive than I am now, I shall have gone up higher, that is all; out of this old tenement into a house that is immortal. A body that death cannot touch; that sin cannot taint; a body fashioned like unto His glorious body.”
“I was born of the flesh in 1837. I was born of the spirit in 1856. That which is born of the flesh my die. That which is born of the Spirit will live forever!”
We serve a Majestic God and Supreme Savior - He is able! In fact He “is able to do exceedingly abundantly above all that we ask or think, according to the power that works in us.” (cf. Ephesians 3:20) We serve a Majestic God - He is magnificent, glorious, marvelous. He is the creator and sustainer of life.
We serve a Supreme Savior. He is the visible image of the invisible God. The one in whom all the fullness of the Godhead dwells. He is the one in whom eternity lives, breathes and has its being. He is the conqueror of death, sin and the grave. The one who reconciled all things in heaven and earth to God. He is glorious, limitless, marvelous, triumphant, victorious. JESUS is His name! That name in which “every knee shall bow and every tongue confess!”
Do you know Him?
Jesus said, “I am the resurrection and the life. He who believes in Me, though he may die, he shall live. And whoever lives and believes in Me shall never die. Do you believe this?”
“Now to Him who is able to keep you from stumbling, and present you faultless before the presence of His glory with exceeding joy, to God our Savior, who alone is wise, be glory and majesty, Dominion and power, both now and forever. Amen.” (Jude 24-25)
