Happy Independence Day!

“For unto us a Child is born, unto us a Son is given; and the government will be upon His shoulder.  And His name will be called Wonderful Counselor, Mighty God, Everlasting Father, Prince of Peace.” - Isaiah 9:6

“Jesus, Jesus, Jesus, there is just something about that name!”   Jesus has many other names, seven of which can be found in Psalm 23.

Jehovah Rohi - The Lord is My Shepherd.

Jehovah Jireh - The Lord will Provide - “I shall not want.”

Jehovah Shalom - The Lord send Peace - “He leads me beside still waters.”

Jehovah Rophi - The Lord that Healeth - “He restores my soul.”

Jehovah Tsidkenu - The Lord our Righteousness - “He leads me in paths of righteousness.”

Jehovah Shammah - The Lord is There - “For you are with me.”

Jehovah Nissi - The Lord my banner - “In the presence of my enemies.”

The Lord is!  Do you know Him?!  It is overwhelming to realize that our creator desires us to know Him in such a personal way that He calls Himself Shepherd.  He invites us to consider us His sheep - His object of affection and attention!

Jesus left the comforts of heaven and came into your world, your “pasture.”  Jesus sweated like you do.  He walked your path.  He braved your wolves.  He faced your temptations and shared your struggles.  The Holy One.  The anointed One.  Jesus Christ came to be your Shepherd!  You have nothing to fear!

Is Jesus your Shepherd?  He is calling - can you hear His voice?!  Come to Jesus and truly live!

“Nor is there salvation in any other, for there is no other name under heaven given among men by which we must be saved.” - Acts 4:12

“…at the name of Jesus every knee should bow…and that every tongue should confess that Jesus Christ is Lord…”  (cf. Philippians 2: 9-11)

“When they had lifted up their eyes, they saw no one but Jesus only.” - Matthew 17: 8
