Homecoming
Is a time when you look back at all the fellowship that has happened up to this point in your life’s journey. All the happy times and all the sad times, all the people that have passed through your life, past and present, and all those that have passed through the Gates of the Kingdom of Heaven. Homecoming is not about a building, but about people and relationships. It is a gathering place of refuge, a place of fellowship, and for some a place to find Jesus Christ for the very first time.
Homecoming should be a place where you always feel welcome, a place you should be able to be yourself, a place where you can meet God for the very first time or find your way back again after a long journey away from Him.
See Homecoming is a special time for all of us to feel the peace we had when we first were saved, its a time to rekindle a fire, or a time to re-energize your batteries.
Our prayer today as we Celebrate what God has done, should also be that someone today, that does not know the love, joy and peace of the Lord Jesus Christ that so many of us in years back have enjoyed, finds their way back home, that someone receives the gift of salvation, and starts their own memory of coming home.
This is a celebration and a time to rejoice in the love, grace and mercy we have found in our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ.
It is a time to remember Jesus’ words, “In My Fathers’ house are many mansions, if it were not so, I would have told you. I go to prepare a place for you. And if I go and prepare a place for you, I will come again and receive you to Myself; that where I am, there you may be also…I am the WAY, the TRUTH, and the LIFE.” (cf. John 14)
Homecoming - Blessed Assurance. Jesus is mine!
