Our response to the difficult situations and circumstances of life are in direct proportion to our relationship with Jesus. Because of our relationship with Jesus, when advised by others to “curse God and die”, like Job, we can respond “shall we receive good from God, and shall we not receive evil?” (cf. Job 2: 9-10) Yes, there is brokenness in this life, but here is the good news - Jesus came “to bind up the brokenhearted, to proclaim liberty to the captives, and the opening of the prison to those who are bound,…to comfort those who mourn.” (cf. Isaiah 61) Jesus said, “Come to me, all who labor and are heavy laden, and I will give you rest. Take my yoke upon you, and learn from me, for I am gentle and lowly in heart, and you will find rest for your souls. For my yoke is easy, and my burden is light.” Matthew 11: 28-30 (ESV) Is it well with your soul? If not, come to Jesus!
