Happy Easter - He is Risen!
The Bible says, “…that Christ died for our sins according to the scriptures, and that He was buried, and that He rose again the third day according to the Scriptures.” (1 Corinthians 15: 3-4)
For Christ to have died, He had to have lived. He lived in the flesh just like you and me. That means Jesus knows all about you. He knows what it feels like to get hungry and thirsty. He knows physical pain and emotional pain. He knows what is to feel left all alone. He knows disappointment and frustration. He knows our weaknesses and our temptations - He lived!
The difference, Jesus lived to die for our sins. The bible says, “For the life of the flesh is in the blood, and I have given it to you upon the altar to make atonement for your souls; for it is the blood that makes atonement for the soul.”
Jesus, God’s only begotten Son was the only one that could make atonement for the souls of humankind. Humanities greatest need is the forgiveness of sin. Jesus not only knows what it is live in the human flesh, He also knows what it is to die in the flesh. The bible says that “the wages of sin is death.” Jesus took on the penalty for sin (yet Himself without sin) - death and the grave. He knows the agony of death for humankind. Death is an awful separator in this life. But praise God, Jesus conquered the grave and death - for He rose again! Because He rose again, that means you and I will rise again too - not only in spirit, but in the flesh!
The bibles says, “that if you confess with your mouth the Lord Jesus and believe in your heart that God has raised Him from the dead, you will be saved.” (Romans 10:9); “For the wages of sin is death, but the gift of God is eternal life in Christ Jesus our Lord.” (Romans 6:23)
Easter is the message of “Hope!”
May we lift up our eyes, and see “Jesus” only! (cf. Matthew 17: 1-9)
Happy Easter - He is Risen Indeed!!
