Hello, my name is “Fear!”  Fear defined, “an unpleasant emotion caused by the belief that someone or something is dangerous, likely to cause pain, or a threat.”   I wish I could tell you that I’m “fearless!” - but, I’m not.

I use to fear flying - fearful of the thought of being so out of control, not to mention 33,000 feet above the earth and traveling at 500 miles an hour!  I will say that the fear of flying taught me to be totally dependent upon God.  

I no longer fear flying - I actually enjoy it now, but I still realize my total dependence upon God.  The bible says that “God has not given us a spirit of fear, but of power and of love and of a sound mind.”   I believe some fears are healthy - like the fear of the consequences for wrong doing - a fear that hopefully leads to repentance.  But a truly repentant heart, one committed to Jesus Christ has nothing to fear!  No fear of judgment, Christ took your judgement.  No fear of death, Jesus defeated death!  Jesus said, “I am the resurrection and the life.  He who believes in Me, though he may die, he shall live.  And whoever lives and believes in Me shall never die.”

(John 11: 25-26)  You have no need to fear anything that this life throws at you.  If you can trust God with your eternal destiny, you can certainly trust Him with your everyday life!  The living God has given you His spirit - the power for living!  You can do all things through Christ who strengthens you!   “Get behind me fear” - for my “God has not given me the spirit of fear, but of power and of love and of a sound mind!”
