    Recognizing the Real Battle

    May 11, 2016

We celebrated, honored and recognized our Mother’s last week, and we are looking forward to the same for Father’s Day in just five weeks!  We must not forget Memorial Day coming up too, as we honor and remember those who have left this life.  “Life”, that is the obvious common denominator.  God is the Creator of life, and of heaven and earth.  He is also the giver of eternal life through His Son Jesus Christ.  But we have an enemy of our souls, Satan.  And he is out to destroy and deceive.  He is out to destroy the family, because he knows if he breaks up the family, he can destroy the culture.  Yes, there are battles and wars going on all over the world.  Jesus Himself said there would be wars and rumors of wars until the end of the age.  But the real war, the real battle is spiritual!   The bible tells us in Ephesians, “For we do not wrestle against flesh and blood, but against principalities, agains powers, against the rulers of the darkness of this age, against spiritual hosts of wickedness in the heavenly places.”

(6:12)  The weapons of our war are spiritual as well, that is why the bible tells us to “take up the whole armor of God.”

Yes, our sufficiency is of Christ and we have the ultimate victory through Him, but our enemy is fighting to get us off the course set before us, individually and corporately.  Our only defense is prayer “and the sword of the spirit, which is the word of God.” (cf. Ephesians 6:17)

    In His Service,

    Pastor Rodney
