Daylight savings time ends November 4th…ugh. Although by setting my clock back one hour (fall back) and I potentially gain an extra hour of sleep, I really am not a fan of the time change. And although I didn’t get to have a say about it nor did I get to vote on it, I, like everyone else will make the proper preparation and adjust. Time is our most valuable possession. We none know how much time we have. The recent tragedies and this past year reminds us all of that. Some would like to blame God for all the bad things that happen, but He is not the blame. But, He would have us to be ready for if/when tragedy strikes. In Ephesians, God reminds us “see then that you walk circumspectly (watchful, cautious), not as fools but as wise, redeeming the time, because the days are evil.” (5:15-16)
Are you making preparations for “that day” when time ends? Jesus said in Matthew 7 that “many will say to Me in that day, ‘Lord, Lord…then I will declare to them, I never knew you…’” You see, Jesus cannot be merely an acquaintance. Jesus must be our personal Savior and Lord. Jesus desires a true and intimate relationship. Jesus’ greatest desire is to spend an eternity with you and me. What you do with time now, in relation to Him, will determine your time in eternity. Yes, set your clocks back, but the most important clock to set is that one in our head that - redeems the time!
