Memorial weekend is a time to remember. A time to remember the men/women who gave the greatest sacrifice, their life, to defend the freedoms that we enjoy in America - a time to remember their families too. A time to remember those who were once in our lives, now gone too. A time to remember that this great Nation of ours, was founded upon Judeo-Christian values: “In God We Trust” A time to remember that we as a people, as a Nation, would do well to get back to God’s word (logos - total, eternal counsel of God; Rhema - spoken word of God) and putting prayer back in our schools. The Bible reminds us in Ephesians chapter six that we are in a spiritual warfare and that our first line of defense or armor is “Truth” - God’s truth. We cannot hope to endure or continue if we who call ourselves Christ followers are not building our lives upon the foundation of God’s word. I pray and hope that my children and grandchildren will continue to enjoy an America that I have been blessed to live in - that will only happen as we get back to living our lives in obedience with the whole counsel of God’s word. “My son, do not forget my law…Trust in the Lord with all your heart, and lean not on your own understanding; In all your ways acknowledge Him, and He shall direct your paths.” (cf.
