The basis for Christian Unity
A Christian, by definition, is one committed to Christ - a follower of Christ.
Therefore, Christian unity must be centered in Jesus Christ.
The reason Christianity cannot unite with “religions” and “cults” is because they deny the deity and purpose of Jesus Christ - He is the believers basis for oneness!
Within Christianity, we must not let our differences in “style” of worship and/or our likes or dislikes of “traditional” verses “contemporary” music, divide the church. Jesus reminds us in Matthew 12:25 that “every kingdom divided against itself is brought to desolation, and every city or house divided against itself will not stand.”
Only as we focus our eyes on “the author and finisher of our faith,” as we learn to walk in obedience to holiness life-style, and as we focus on the mission of the church can we fully realize - “the unity of the spirit in the bond of peace!”
