    The Cure

    November 5, 2021

“Thank You” to our veterans!  Thank you to all those men and women in uniform, past and present who protect the freedoms that we enjoy.  Not only protect but put their own lives in harms way for the benefit of all.   Jesus said, “greater love has no one than this, than to lay down one’s own life for his friends.” (15:13)

“No man can carry his love for his friend farther than this: for, when he gives up his life, he gives up all that he has.” (Clarke)

The root of mankind’s problem is sin - the sinful nature.  Yes, we are thankful and need our military, our police officers, to protect against the evils of mankind.  Yes, we need certain laws to help defend and protect.  But at the root of the evils of our day, past, present and future is sin.  We can’t write enough laws, we can’t legislate morality and ethics - people need a heart change!  Jesus came over 2,000 years ago not only to die for the sins of mankind but He rose again so that we might have eternal life and abundant life in the present!  The cure for sin, mankind’s greatest need, is Jesus!  Jesus came not only to save us from the ultimate penalty for sin, eternal death, but to save us from the power of sin in our lives!

“…sin lies at the door.  And its desire is for you, but you should rule over it.” (Genesis 4: 7b)

The bible says “for since by man came death, by Man also came the resurrection from the dead.  For as in Adam all die, even so in Christ all shall be made alive!” (1 Corinthians 15: 21-22)

“Therefore, if anyone is in Christ, he is a new creation; old things have passed away; behold, all things have become new.” (2 Cor. 5:17)

I quote and use scripture a lot - why?  Because the word of God and the Spirit of God is the only thing that can bring salvation and real change!

You want change?  It must start with you and me.  Real change will only come about as we submit our lives (our wills) to the one, and only one, who can save our lives - Jesus Christ!  Jesus is the cure for mankind’s greatest need!
