There is a saying that I’ve shared many times and will share again in this writing.  It says, “If God said it, I believe it, and that settles it!”  Before you say amen, the correct quote is, “ If God said it, that settles it, whether I believe it or not!”  Ok, now you can say Amen!

We are in the time I believe where knowledge has increased exponentially but we have strayed further and further from God’s truth!

I believe we are in that time that the Apostle Paul spoke of in 2 Timothy 4,

“For the time will come when they will not endure sound doctrine, but according to their own desires, because they have itching ears, they will heap up for themselves teacher; and they will turn their ears away from the truth, and be turned aside to fables.”

It is critical, as Christ followers that we heed to sound theology and doctrine.  We need to stand firm on what we believe and know why we believe it!   We live in a time where right is wrong and wrong is right, according to the final authority - God’s written word, the Bible!

God desperately desires for mankind (man/woman) to know and follow the truth!  The writer of Hebrews reminds us of that!  God has spoke through His creation - nature itself.  God has spoke through the prophets, apostles and disciples.  God has spoke through Jesus Christ - God incarnate, the second person of the trinity!   Christ is the living word, and the Bible is the written word - the logos of God!

Jesus - God in the flesh, was divine and human (yet with no sin).

Jesus was often referred to as Prophet, Priest and King.

Prophets spoke the word of God - Jesus is the word.

Priests continually made offerings to God - Jesus was the once and for all offering.

Kings have ruled temporary kingdoms - Jesus is the eternal King of His eternal and everlasting kingdom - the kingdom of God!

Because of Jesus’ nature and role - you and I have hope for today, tomorrow and beyond the grave!  Jesus can sympathize with our weaknesses and was in all points tempted as we are (yet without sin).

So, “let us therefore come boldly to the throne of grace, that we may obtain mercy and find grace to help in time of need.” (cf. Hebrews 4: 15)
