Jesus, after His Resurrection, and before His ascension back to the Father told His disciples, “…to wait for the Promise of the Father” - the Holy Spirit.

God by His grace and mercy continues to work in us and through us by the indwelling of the Holy Spirit.  As we are obedient to His Word and the Holy Spirit we become more and more like Jesus.   Part of the manifestation of Holy Spirit working in us is our ability “To Love”    Jesus said, “You shall love the Lord your God with all your heart, with all your soul, and with all your mind… and you shall love your neighbor as yourself.” (cf. Matthew 22: 37-40)   Jesus loves you so much that He laid His life down for YOU!  He died for you on the cross while you were still dead in your sins!  He said, “You are worth it!”   Now, out of gratitude for what Christ did for you, you love Him.  You hunger and thirst for the things of God.  You become passionate about what God is passionate about - people!   We are to journey, to come alongside others to help them come to know the one that died for them too!  Someone has said that love may not make the world go around but it makes the trip worthwhile.  The Bible says that love is the greatest virtue.  May our prayer be “To know Jesus Christ more clearly, to love Him more dearly, and to follow Him more nearly”  - We do that by loving others!
