    The power of Choice

    June 8, 2019

The power of choice is God’s greatest gift to you and me.  God has created us with the free will.  The free will to choose between right and wrong.  The free will to believe or not believe.  The free will to obey or disobey.  The free will to serve Him or to serve something or someone else.  The free will to how we invest our time, talent and money in which He has entrusted us with and made us stewards over.  The wisest choice you and I can make though is to choose to serve Him - the one and only creator, redeemer, Savior and Lord.  The One in whom we shall all give an account to some day.  The wisest and richest man ever, came to this conclusion: “Fear God and keep His commandments, for this is man’s all.  For God will bring every work into judgment, including every secret thing, whether good or evil.”  Solomon went all to conclude in Ecclesiastes that everything else was meaningless and empty without God - “all is vanity!”

The bible says, “for what will it profit a man if he gains the whole world, and loses his own soul?” - Jesus (cf. Mark 8:37)

The power of choice, God has given this to you and me.  We can choose to serve creation or the creator!  We can choose to accept Jesus Christ, God’s only begotten Son sent to save mankind or we can choose to reject God’s plan of salvation.  But know this that God loves you and He is not “willing that any should perish but that all should come to repentance!”

I pray like Joshua that you will decide, “as for me and my house, we will serve the LORD!”   This is not half-hearted service, but service that: fears the LORD; serves Him in sincerity and truth; puts away gods (idols that battle for your heart). (cf. Joshua 24: 14-15)

Service that decides to “Present your bodies a living sacrifice, holy, acceptable to God, which is your reasonable service.” - Romans 12

I choose by the continued grace and mercy of God - “As for me and my house, we will serve the LORD!”   How about you?!

    In His Service,

    Pastor Rodney
