The bible reminds us in Psalm 90:10 “the days of our lives are 70 years, and if by reason of strength they are 80…so teach us to number our days that we may gain a heart of wisdom.”
Jesus said He conquered the grave and death - doesn’t seem like that for us when loved ones, family and friends pass away but make no mistake about it, for those that know Jesus Christ, they are more alive now than they have ever been!
The late D.L.Moody said, “some day you will read in the papers that D.L.Moody, of East Northfield, is dead. Don’t you believe a word of it! At that moment I shall be more alive than I am now, I shall have gone up higher, that is all; out of this old clay tenement into a house that is immortal - a body that death cannot touch; that sin cannot taint; a body fashioned like unto His glorious body.
I was born of the flesh in 1837. I was born of the Spirit in 1856. That which is born of the flesh may die. That which is born of the Spirit will live forever!
So, as the poem goes…
“When tomorrow starts without me, please try to understand, that an angel came and called my name, and took me by the hand; The angel said my place was ready, In Heaven far above, and that I’d have to leave behind all those I dearly love. But when I walked through Heaven’s Gates, I felt so much at home, for God looked down, smiled at me, and told me ‘Welcome Home!’ So when tomorrow starts without me, don’t think we’er far apart, for every time you think of me, I’m right there in your heart.” - unknown
The Apostle Paul proclaimed, “for to me, to live is Christ, and to die is gain!” (Phil.1:21)
Do you have that assurance? If not, you can have. “…believe on the Lord Jesus Christ, and you will be saved!” The Bible says, “eye has not seen, nor ear heard, nor have entered into the heart of man that things which God has prepared for those who love Him.” - 1 Corinthians 2: 9
