School shootings, volcanic eruptions, flooding, earthquakes, tornadoes, crime, moral decay, aging bodies, death…how does a person keep looking forward to the future? And furthermore, can one even be assured of the future?...

We celebrated, honored and recognized our Mother’s two weeks ago, and we are looking forward to the same for Father’s Day in just three more weeks! But this coming Monday, Memorial Day , we pause, honor and remember those who have departed from this earthly life. “Life”, that is the obvious common denominator. God is the Creator of life, and of heaven and earth. He is also the giver of eternal life through His Son Jesus Christ. But we have an enemy of our souls, Satan. And he is out to destroy and deceive. He is out to destroy the family because he...

My heart and prayers goes out to the families of those children whose lives ended tragically, in yet another school shooting in Texas. There is so much evil and turmoil going on in our world today, it makes me wonder if we are truly living in the last days Jesus spoke of in the gospels?! There is so much I don’t...

There is a saying that goes something like this, “A man’s work is from sun to sun, but a woman’s (mothers) work is never done.” - that seems to be true in most cases. The family structure, the way God designed it, is so important. If it wasn’t for your Mother and Father you wouldn’t be here - literally! The bible says to “honor your father and mother.” As we honor mothers on this day (Sunday), it’s good for us to not only think about how much they really do, but...

As I pen this pastors desk I’m a little disappointed in myself, and honestly a little depressed. I had signed up to run the Mini-marathon in Indianapolis, but I will not be running. Why? Because I didn’t do the work required to race 13.1 miles. I’m starting to think that my racing days might be over, even though I have tried to “restart” them. All that being said, I’m still a runner, well, maybe jogger, but still moving forward. I still love to run, and do - it is a way of life for me. To call yourself a runner, or jogger you have to actually do it. You don’t have to race to be a runner, but you do have to run, I know, mister obvious! There is something much more important than my running,...

“Knowing God’s Will” - that’s a big topic, even for this 56 year old! As I reflect on my life up to this point in my journey, can I say I knew and did God’s will every step of the way? The answer would be, “No.” There have been times that I have been out of the will of God, and there have been times when I...

“Looking Unto Jesus” For many years I aspired to be a world class runner(more of a fantasy than a realistic goal). I did all the research though, read all the books and applied the training. I was disciplined in my training, diet, sleep and habits. I looked to many of the great runners of my time as inspiration: Gary Romesser (IN); Tim Mylin (IN); Steve Prefontaine (Oregon); Bob Kennedy (Indiana); Bill Rogers (Boston), to name just a few. Although I set many personal records (Qualified for and ran the Boston Marathon),...

There is a gravestone in a New York City cemetery with no name, no date of birth or death, only one word is engraved on the headstone - “Forgiven” Probably the most powerful, healing word in the human language! Forgiveness restores relationships - divinely and humanly. Jesus said, ...

Glorious appearing!
We’ve all heard the saying, “spring showers brings May flowers.” (the rain we’ve had we can expect an abundance of flowers!) I for one am looking forward to those “May flowers!” Spring is one of my favorite seasons - everything springs back to life! For that life to spring back to “fruitfulness” it takes water and plenty of sun shine. Nothing pleases nor glorifies our heavenly Father more than when we “spring to life” in the spirit. That is, we start walking in the spirit. Walking means progression - we...

Happy Easter!
“Christ died for our sins according to the scriptures, and that He was buried, and that He ROSE AGAIN the third day according to the Scriptures.” (cf. 1 Corinthians 15: 3-4)
No April fool’s joke - Christ is Risen!
What does the resurrection of Christ mean to you personally? How has it impacted your life? Do you...
